Jeffrey D. Powell is an independent thinker, author, and one of the most notable experts on the topic of bridging capital for community impact.
Jeff serves as the Senior Vice President of Wells Fargo & Co. Government & Institutional Banking Group. He focuses on delivering financial solutions to large municipalities and educational institutions, utilizing the robust menu of capabilities the bank has to offer. His direct responsibilities include analyzing and securing both on-balance sheet and off-balance sheet credit lending strategies in Texas and Louisiana.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo Bank & Co., Jeffâs past executive experience included Vice President of Sales and Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch and Vice President at JP Morgan Chase in the Private Wealth Management Group, where he managed equity and debt portfolios for both public and private clients.
Jeff received his undergraduate degree from The College at Brockport in Upstate New York. He is a candidate for the Harvard Kennedy School of Masters in Public Policy, Class of 2023. He held multiple NASD Securities Licenses in addition to his Certification in Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis from the College for Financial Planning.
Jeff is an active board member and community humanitarian in New York and Texas. Former and present board positions include the Houston Habitat for Humanity, Houston Homeless SEARCH, Buffalo Soldiers National Museum Fund Raising Co-Chair, Texas Southern University School of Business Fellowship Board Member, and Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Finance Committee Co-Chair. He is also a member of the United Way of Greater Houston Project Blueprint Class XXIV, Leadership Houston Class XXXII, and American Leadership Forum Class XLII.
